Minotaur”Words cannot describe YANCI´s work and give it justice.
It was an experience not to be missed.”
The Times, Singapore

One would be hard pressed to ”describe” the work of YANCI.
Acting, pantomime, movement theatre, and slapstick comedy are main elements of his performance. Music, sound effects, monologues and ‘dialogues’ play significant roles. Mask Theatre, life size marionettes and puppetry, and magic illusions touch on mystery and the unexpected.
The theatre art of YANCI is the magic of the imagination.
The curtain rises. The stage is empty. The performer – alone. The canvas of the imagination begins to unfold. Illusion and reality parade the stage. Objects appear transparent. The invisible becomes visible. Shape shifting from human to minotaur to dragon to fire... the ”magic artistry” of Yanci – ”Why bodies are able to fly.”

”His scenes are profoundly humorous, poetic and creative.
They transform the everyday life into body language and moving pictures that reflect the depth of human sensitivity.”
Stadt Zeitung, Cologne, Germany

Among those who today engage in some form of one-man shows, Yanci is undoubtedly one of the most outstanding performers on the world stage. He has captured the imagination and fantasy of audiences with his artistic richness of ideas, lightening quick ability to change characters, powerfully expressive mime, and an irresistible stage personality.

Yanci’s initial recognition as an artiste exceptionnel came as assistant, collaborator and Performing Stage Partner of the legendary French mime Marcel Marceau. During their collaboration, in more than a thousand performances throughout the world, Yanci developed his own style and repertoire. His technique stems from a dynamic approach towards ‘bridging’ the modern and classical mime forms, clown, mask, puppetry and magic illusions. With the creation of his own one-man show Yanci broke the ‘sound barriers’ of mimetic art with his stage ‘monologues’. The mixture of acting, mime, spoken text, and non-verbal communication, established Yanci as a new voice in the art of mime and ”the talking mime” became a signature trademark.
